About the role

Performs prescribed MRI imaging procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. Competently performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment and initiative.

Responsibilities

• Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s).
• Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results. Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure.
• Enters, transmits and reports scan results.
• Reviews patient history and physician's orders. Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
• When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice. Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.
• Prepares equipment and supplies. Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum Associate’s Degree; or Certification from a technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Radiography Certification (R) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification and Registration (N) or Radiation Therapy Certification and Registration (RT) or MRI (MR) through American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) or any American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certification or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (ARMRIT)Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Certification through ARRT is required within 18 months of hire unless employee has obtained American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (ARMRIT).
• CPR – American Heart Association

Qualifications

• Prior experience working as a MRI Technologist

• Technical proficiency in MRI procedures
• Ability to independently assess and resolve imaging issues
• Effective communication skills

Benefits

Sign on bonus eligible: $15,000 (3 year commitment)

Pay

Base pay range: $31.02 - $48.54 per hour
