About the role

Commits to providing a respectful, caring, attentive, and efficient patient-centered experience to all patients, family members, visitors, providers, and co-workers. Remains competent in assisting with imaging exams. Assists with diagnostic exams, performs clerical duties including record keeping, and maintains high-quality services. Communicates effectively with patients, families, and care providers while promoting positive working relationships.

  • Checks orders for complete information and appropriateness criteria; schedules exams as needed.
  • Obtains sufficient information to determine whether the procedure should be performed immediately or within a specific time frame.
  • Adheres to established section and organizational protocols, quality assurance guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assists with coordinating work assignments to ensure a smooth workflow; sets up imaging room for scheduled examinations, including proper isolations and precautions.
  • Verifies patients with name and date of birth; provides quality customer service and explains studies clearly.
  • Safely transports patients using appropriate modes of transport and proper “hand-off” communication tools.
  • Safely transfers patients to and from carts, beds, and wheelchairs using multiple lifting devices; positions patients ensuring comfort and modesty.
  • Maintains a clean, orderly, and well-stocked area; accurately records patient exams and follows proper billing procedures.
  • Rotates within departments for proper coverage and support as required; notifies appropriate staff when equipment malfunctions.
  • Adheres to corporate and departmental policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency.
  • No previous experience required.
  • AHA BLS certification (non-licensed must obtain before the end of the orientation period).
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Basic life support training.
  • Able to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced imaging environment with potential exposure to severely ill and injured patients.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Frequent physical demands include sitting, standing, walking, carrying objects, pushing/pulling, twisting, bending, reaching forward, reaching overhead, wrist position deviation, and pinching/fine motor activities.

Occasional physical demands include climbing (e.g., stairs or ladders), squatting/kneeling/crawling, and keyboard use/repetitive motion.

Continuous physical demands include talking or hearing.

  • Lifting: Floor to Waist – 50 lbs; Waist Level and Above – 50 lbs.
  • Sensory Requirements: Accurate near and far vision, color discrimination, moderate depth perception, and moderate hearing.

Anticipated occupational exposure risks include bloodborne pathogens, airborne communicable diseases, and radiation.

Pay

Pay Range: $17.00 - $20.85 per hour for a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) position. Actual compensation may differ depending on assigned hours and position status (e.g., part-time). The pay range reflects base compensation and does not include potential bonuses, incentive compensation, differential pay, or other forms of compensation.

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40

Usual Work Day: 8 Hours
