Responsibilities
- Performs MRI procedures at a technical level in accordance with established protocols.
- Demonstrates advanced knowledge in radiographic procedures, including X-ray, Fluoroscopy with C-arm, and OR work.
- Practices radiation safety, adhering to ALARA standards.
- Operates equipment consistent with manufacturer’s recommendations; troubleshoots problems and calls service engineers when needed.
- Maintains accurate patient records in the EHR, including charging for procedures and supplies.
- Assists in other modalities, adjusts schedules, and takes call, overtime, or holiday shifts as needed.
- Obtains additional training or certification as required.
- Assists with clerical duties, phone reception, and patient transportation when required.
- Trains or cross-trains imaging staff members as directed.
- Orders, stocks, and maintains supply inventory.
- Demonstrates commitment to organizational values and represents the organization professionally.
- Fosters positive working relationships with patients, staff, and vendors through effective communication.
- Adheres to organizational attire and dress code policies.
- Completes all required annual education, training, in-services, and licensure/certification updates.
- Maintains strict patient confidentiality.
- Reports to work punctually and completes assigned duties within established timeframes.
- Contributes to performance improvement and continuous quality initiatives.
- Ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements and maintains adherence to departmental, hospital, state, and federal standards.
- Follows infection control, safety, and risk management procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age (21 for positions requiring driving, with a valid driver’s license).
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Successfully pass a background check, pre-employment drug screen, and breath alcohol test (if applicable).
- Complete an Employee Health meeting prior to starting employment.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program.
- ARRT registration in Radiology (R), including Computed Tomography (CT) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or must obtain within 90 days of hire or transfer).
- Two years of prior experience as a practicing Radiologic Technologist, CT, and MRI technologist.
- Cross-trained in other modalities, including DEXA and Mammography (preferred).
- Experience with electronic records, including PACS and RIS/HIS.
