About the role

This is a PRN, non-exempt position.

Responsibilities

  • Performs MRI procedures at a tech level in accordance with protocols.
  • Demonstrates advanced knowledge in radiographic procedures including, but not limited to, X-ray and Fluoroscopy, with C-arm, and OR work.
  • Practices radiation safety, adhering to ALARA standards.
  • Operates equipment consistent with the manufacturer’s recommendations.
  • Troubleshoots equipment problems and independently calls a service engineer if the malfunction needs outside maintenance.
  • Maintains accurate patient records in EHR, including charging for procedures and supplies.
  • Assists in other modalities, adjusting schedules, and taking call, overtime, or holiday shifts as needed.
  • Obtains additional training or certification as required.
  • Assists with clerical duties, phone reception, and patient transportation when required.
  • Assists, trains, or cross-trains imaging staff members as directed.
  • Orders, stocks, and maintains supply inventory.
  • Demonstrates full commitment to the CHOICE values of MRH and consistently represents the organization in a positive, professional manner.
  • Establishes and maintains effective verbal and written communication, fostering positive working relationships with patients, staff, and vendors.
  • Adheres to the MRH attire and dress code in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Completes all required annual education, training, in-services, and licensure/certification updates.
  • Maintains strict patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Reports to work punctually and completes assigned duties within established timeframes.
  • Actively contributes to departmental and organization-wide performance improvement and continuous quality initiatives.
  • Ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, maintaining adherence to departmental, hospital, state, and federal standards and policies.
  • Follows all infection control, safety, and risk management procedures to maintain a safe environment for patients, the public, and staff.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age (21 for positions requiring driving, with a valid driver’s license).
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must successfully pass a background check.
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and breath alcohol test (if applicable).
  • Must complete an Employee Health meeting prior to starting employment.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program.
  • ARRT registration in Radiology (R), including Computed Tomography (CT) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or must obtain within 90 days of hire or transfer).

Experience

  • Two (2) years prior experience as a practicing Radiologic Technologist, CT, and MRI technologist (preferred).
  • Cross-trained into other modalities, including, but not limited to: DEXA and Mammography (preferred).
  • Experience with electronic records, including PACS and RIS/HIS (preferred).

Pay

Compensation range: $42.18 to $63.27 per hour.
