Responsibilities
- Administers academic training, flight evaluations, and simulator instruction for various courses.
- Instructs UAV student pilot operators in all aspects of UAV ground and flight operations.
- This training includes academic (platform instruction), simulator, and in-flight instruction.
- Complies with all governing regulations including service guidance, company procedures and Federal Aviation Administration Regulations.
- Performs mission planning, briefing, mission execution and debriefing.
Requirements
- Qualified Mission Command Element (MCE) aircrew.
- Qualified SATCOM Launch and Recovery (SLR) or Launch and Recovery Element (LRE) aircrew.
- Prior MQ-9 pilot training, specifically:
- United States Air Force (USAF) MQ-9 Pilot Initial Qualification Training course (IQT)
- USMC MQ-9 Pilot Training Course at VMUT-2
- Industry equivalent MQ-9 Pilot Training Course (General Atomics-ASI, L3-Harris, Albers, etc.)
- Valid Federal Aviation administration (FAA) First or Second-Class Airman Medical Certificate, or a current DD Form 2992 at the GFR's discretion, reflecting the individual is medically cleared for flight duty.
- No less than 550 Pilot in Command (PIC) hours in MQ-9 aircraft (up to 50% of that MQ-9 flight time can be conducted in simulator).
- No less than 25 hours of MQ-9 instructor time.
Qualifications
- Must have or be able to attain and maintain DoD security clearance.
Skills
- Proficiency in MQ-9 aircraft operations.
- Ability to conduct mission planning and debriefing.
- Knowledge of FAA regulations and service guidance.
- Experience in MQ-9 instructor training and simulation.
