MPI Assistant Controller
Position Summary
The Corporate Assistant Controller is an integral part of the accounting/finance team. The Corporate Assistant Controller will support the daily operation of the division’s accounting functions. The Corporate Assistant Controller will handle a wide variety of responsibilities including handling issues relating to general operations, assisting with preparation of financial statements and reports, monthly and year-end closings, account reconciliations, and all other accounting functions. As part of this role, the Corporate Assistant Controller will provide supervision and oversight of payroll.
Position Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Analysis
Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and reconciliations
Prepare and review financial statements and management reports
Analyze variances and provide actionable insights
Ensure GAAP compliance
Support forecasting and budgeting
Support auditsPayroll Oversight & Compliance
Oversight multi-site payroll operations
Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing
Review payroll journal entries and reconciliations
Maintain payroll internal controls
Ensure regulatory complianceOperational Accounting
Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts
Responsible for managing fixed assets
Maintain costs of direct ship products
Work with Plant Assistant Controllers to drive process improvements
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or related field from accredited college or university.
Minimum six (6) years accounting or business-related experience.
Proven knowledge of financial statements, journal entries, and GAAP.
Proven increase of responsibility in prior work experience.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
Documented history developing and maintaining positive working relationships in a multi-stakeholder culture.
Ability to deliver results while working in a team focused environment.
Excellent communication skills; verbal and written.Preferred Qualifications
Experience in manufacturing accounting.
Microsoft D365 experience
