Moving Center General Manager Trainee

About the Role

U-Haul is seeking a responsible, motivated, and thoughtful individual to join our team as a General Manager Trainee. In this role, you will learn how to manage one of our moving and storage centers, focusing on profitability, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. The position offers a dynamic, fast-paced environment with opportunities for growth and advancement.

Responsibilities

• Manage the fleet to ensure clean and well-maintained equipment
• Track and itemize inventory
• Ensure customers receive the highest quality of care
• Monitor fuel receipts and petty cash
• Clean and secure the premises
• Participate in ongoing education through U-Haul University

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of management experience in retail or another service industry
• Responsibility for financial results and customer satisfaction
• Computer and organizational expertise
• Profit and loss (P&L) accountability in high-volume retail
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Availability to work weekends and holidays

Work Environment

The role involves moderate risks or discomforts, requiring special safety precautions. This includes working around moving parts, machines, fumes, or irritating chemicals. Protective clothing or gear, such as masks, goggles, gloves, or shields, may be necessary.

Physical Demands

The position requires physical exertion, including long periods both indoors and outdoors, remaining stationary, traversing spaces, repositioning to reach and use tools, and moving a minimum of 50 lbs assisted or unassisted.

Pay

Compensation starts at $17+/hr.
