The Role
The Movement Instructor is an integral member of THE WELL’s integrative and comprehensive wellness team, working alongside doctors, practitioners, service providers, and corporate professionals to uphold the organization’s standards of excellence. This role is responsible for delivering COMPLETE and Strength & Conditioning classes, including yoga, that reflect the instructor’s training, practice, and expertise, incorporating elements such as anatomy, philosophy, music, poetry, and thoughtful adjustments as appropriate. The position requires fostering a respectful, supportive, and inclusive environment for all members' community, guests, and colleagues.
Responsibilities
- Teach classes which empower students as leaders in their own health and wellness through your classes and engagements with our members and community.
- Encourage members to explore THE WELL’s broader offerings to address their individual needs.
- Record and update relevant member information in the community database, sharing appropriate updates with the practitioner team.
- Develop and implement innovative programs that align with current wellness trends.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized studio environment before, during, and after each class.
- Monitor equipment cleanliness and supply levels, ensuring proper replenishment, and report maintenance needs to management.
- Follow all safety protocols, responding appropriately to injuries or emergencies.
- Provide verbal or physical adjustments only with member consent, in accordance with THE WELL’s conduct policies.
- Maintain a consistent and reliable teaching schedule and communication with leadership.
- Foster a healthy, inspired, and engaged mindful movement community, providing comprehensive classes, which leave our students feeling seen, encouraged and supported.
- Ensure accountability for the proper care, maintenance, and cleanliness of all mindful movement spaces and equipment.
Qualifications
- Minimum 200-hour teacher training; 500-hour certification preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of live teaching experience.
- Sequencing training required.
- Commitment to delivering safe, inclusive, and high-quality instruction.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a wellness team.
