About the role
In the role of Mechanical Engineer, we'll count on you to:
- Perform mechanical design and inspection (machinery and hydraulics) on movable bridges and other heavy movable structures
- Coordinate workload to complete on schedule and on budget
- Review of mechanical documents
- Perform inspections and write associated reports
- Write/edit mechanical specifications and select equipment, systems and devices
- Provide construction support as needed
- Conduct QA/QC on and coordinate with the work of other Mechanical Engineers, Mechanical Coordinators or Technicians
- Work will include a mixture of office and field work and may require travel
- Mentor younger mechanical staff
Responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5 years’ experience in mechanical design on movable bridges and other heavy movable structures
- Previous experience with an engineering consulting firm
- Preference given to local candidates
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Previous experience in mechanical system design of commercial or institutional buildings
- Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered.
- Experience in commercial or institutional facilities
- Computer experience using MS Office, Trane TRACE or similar software, manufacturer selection software
- Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm
