Moveable Bridge Engineer

About the role

In the role of Mechanical Engineer, we'll count on you to:

  • Perform mechanical design and inspection (machinery and hydraulics) on movable bridges and other heavy movable structures
  • Coordinate workload to complete on schedule and on budget
  • Review of mechanical documents
  • Perform inspections and write associated reports
  • Write/edit mechanical specifications and select equipment, systems and devices
  • Provide construction support as needed
  • Conduct QA/QC on and coordinate with the work of other Mechanical Engineers, Mechanical Coordinators or Technicians
  • Work will include a mixture of office and field work and may require travel
  • Mentor younger mechanical staff

Responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5 years’ experience in mechanical design on movable bridges and other heavy movable structures
  • Previous experience with an engineering consulting firm
  • Preference given to local candidates

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Previous experience in mechanical system design of commercial or institutional buildings
  • Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered.
  • Experience in commercial or institutional facilities
  • Computer experience using MS Office, Trane TRACE or similar software, manufacturer selection software
  • Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm
