MOTOR VEHICLE OPERATOR
About the role

Responsibilities
- You will arrange cargo load for best support and to ensure the proper unloading sequence.
- You will drive vehicles on specific trips or on regularly established schedules and routes in order to transport material and equipment within government installations, and between government installations.
- You will maintain trip records or logs showing time of departure, sequence of stops, time of return, trip mileage, fuel and oil consumption, accidents, damages, or traffic violations.
- You will operate trailers including enclosed vans, flatbeds, equipment trailers, lowboy trailers to 60 tons capacity, and occasionally other types of specialized trucks, tractor or truck-tractor combinations, which may include dual braking systems.
Requirements
Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
Qualifications
- New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
- Must be registered for Selective Service.
- Must successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- Must obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
- Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana).
- Must wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- May require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites.
- Must obtain and maintain a current Commercial Driver's license.
- Must obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- This position may require rotating shift work.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements.
