Amentum anticipates this job requisition will remain open for at least three days, with a closing date no earlier than three days after the original posting.
Responsibilities
- Complete vehicle inspections and perform maintenance to prepare vehicles for testing.
- Perform periodic maintenance on a variety of vehicles, including gas, diesel, or hybrid cars/pick-ups and class 8 trucks.
- Install or set up test equipment to meet current and future emissions testing requirements.
- Fuel and de-fuel vehicles.
- Provide vehicle preparation and driving tests in support of exhaust gas emissions testing.
- Remove, rebuild, and install heavy-duty engines.
- Drive light and medium-duty vehicles on public roads for vehicle delivery, pick-up, and testing (valid driver’s license required).
- Perform welding, fabrication, or modifications of vehicle components as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum of 6 years of experience with proven skills in vehicle inspection, maintenance, and testing of vehicles and/or engines.
- Familiarity with current vehicle emission control systems.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Homeland Federal Site Security clearance.
- Possess and maintain a valid commercial driver’s license and DOT health card.
- Ability to be bonded as a notary public to sign documents for obtaining vehicles from the public for testing.
- Vehicle testing background with instrumentation experience.
- State or ASE Master Mechanic Certification required.
- Metal fabrication and/or welding experience desirable.
- Valid driver’s license required; ability to drive manual transmission vehicles.
