About the role
As an independent contractor, this role requires strong expertise in data privacy and security practices. The contractor will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant data protection regulations and implementing robust privacy measures to safeguard sensitive information.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive data privacy policies and procedures
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with data protection laws
- Provide guidance on data privacy issues and train team members on best practices
- Respond to data breach notifications and coordinate with legal teams
- Stay updated on emerging privacy regulations and advise on necessary changes
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- At least 5 years of experience in data privacy and security
- Experience working with regulatory bodies and understanding of GDPR, CCPA, and other relevant laws
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Qualifications
- Knowledge of data privacy frameworks such as ISO 27001 and SOC 2
- Experience with data mapping and risk assessment tools
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
