About the Role

The Engineer III performs engineering calculations, investigations, and tasks with limited supervision. This role collaborates with other employees to provide follow-up and engineering assistance on defined problems and assists in preparing reports, graphs, planning layouts, and summaries to communicate project progress or results. The Engineer III may also act as a mentor to lower-level engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Manage projects, communicate requirements, establish timelines, and coordinate activities to meet customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with team members to provide follow-up and engineering assistance on defined problems.
  • Prepare reports, graphs, planning layouts, and summaries to communicate project progress or results.
  • Design, develop, analyze, troubleshoot, and provide technical skills and training.
  • Recommend and design components and systems to meet customer specifications for size, layout, and performance.
  • Utilize Computer-Aided Design (CAD), 2D and 3D drawings, schematics, general-arrangement and production layout drawings, load calculations, stress analysis, and/or fabrication/shop drawings to define problems and complete engineering projects.
  • Ensure compliance with local and national regulatory agencies and the organization’s safety standards.
  • Provide technical writing and functional explanations of how components work and integrate into industrial machinery.
  • Improve production methods, determine manufacturing capacity, and set up production schedules.
  • Act as a mentor to lower-level engineers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • Five (5) to seven (7) years of related experience.

Skills

  • Proficient use of CAD software and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong mechanical and math skills, with the ability to formulate ideas and create design solutions for internal and external customer needs.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Field experience is a plus.
  • Works effectively as a key member of cross-functional teams and displays a can-do attitude.

Physical Demands

May require travel and specific safety training to work in dangerous and extreme environment conditions while collecting data or commissioning new systems at the customer’s location.
