Essential Job Functions
- Determine equipment condition through inspections and diagnostic tests.
- Complete preventive maintenance schedules, install upgrades, and perform general maintenance on trailers.
- Correct equipment deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, and components.
- Verify equipment performance by conducting tests, adjusting controls and systems, and maintaining equipment appearance.
- Maintain equipment records by annotating services and repairs.
- Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, and performing preventive maintenance.
- Evaluate service and parts options, keep supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders, and verifying receipt.
- Perform trailer mechanical repair experience a plus, electrical and welding experience a plus, 2-4 years of preventative maintenance of trailers a plus, battery charging and testing experience a plus.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements
- Valid driver's license required, will require passing MVR and controlled substance test, may require background and criminal record check.
- Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations.
- Repeated physical effort including driving for several hours per day or several hours at a time, standing and walking for extended periods of time (more than several hours), loading and unloading equipment into and out of company vehicles, walking on varying ground surfaces, and frequently lifting a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Working from elevated platforms, ladders or truck beds.
- Operating hand/power tools, manual dexterity to operate keyboards and smart phones, physical agility to use arms, legs and hands repetitively.
- Working outdoors, working safely under adverse environmental and weather conditions which include high speed traffic areas, heavy construction equipment, fuel fumes and construction substances.
- Comfortable around vehicles moving through work zones and maintaining constant awareness of surroundings on construction site including placement of machinery and equipment, other employees and construction activities.
- Communicating clearly - both written and verbally, ability to complete daily paperwork as required by supervisor.
- Working a flexible schedule which can include day or night shifts, weekends and/or holidays, adjusting to a changing work schedule, working overtime and working individually and as a team with other employees.
- Maintain company standards post-employment for background checks, criminal record, driving record and controlled substance/drug testing.
