MOT Equipment Mechanic
Description
The MOT Equipment Mechanic position at ACME BARRICADES involves maintaining Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) equipment such as message boards, arrow boards, speed radar boards, portable regulatory boards, and utility trailers. Key responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing equipment, keeping it operational, and maintaining records.
- Conduct inspections and diagnostic tests to identify equipment condition.
- Complete preventive maintenance schedules and install component and part upgrades.
- Overhaul, assemble, disassemble, and replace major assemblies, sub-assemblies, and components.
- Adjust and test controls and systems to verify equipment performance.
- Clean, wash, and paint equipment to maintain its appearance.
- Annotate services and repairs in equipment records.
- Work on small equipment, trailers, and perform trailer mechanical repair.
- Operate hand and power tools, and use manual dexterity and physical agility.
- Handle repetitive tasks including driving, standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working from elevated platforms.
- Operate in various environments including high-speed traffic areas, heavy construction sites, and adverse weather conditions.
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Adapt to a flexible schedule that may include day or night shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements
A valid driver's license is required, along with passing a MVR and controlled substance test. A background and criminal record check may be required. Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations is essential. Electrical and welding experience, as well as 2-4 years of preventative maintenance of trailers, battery charging and testing experience, and trailer mechanical repair experience are preferred.
