About the role

Clarke is seeking to hire a seasonal, part-time Mosquito Light Trap Runner to travel to local communities and collect mosquito trap samples. The population and species data collected will be used to predict mosquito activity and guide treatment decisions. No experience is required; training will be provided. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, is comfortable working independently, and has strong attention to detail and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Travel to local communities to collect mosquito trap samples
• Sort and document insect collections with attention to minute detail
• Use smartphones and apps to record data
• Operate independently while maintaining strong communication

Qualifications

• Be 18 years of age or older
• Have a valid Driver’s License with an excellent driving record
• Own or have access to an insured and reliable vehicle (use of personal vehicle is required)
• Communicate effectively in English in both written and verbal forms
• Comfortable walking on uneven terrain
• Attention to minute detail to sort insect collections
• Ability to operate smartphones and apps
• Must be able to work through the end of the season (September/October; route & weather dependent)

Schedule

Monday, Wednesday, and Friday between 5:00 AM and 11:00 AM (end time depends on workload). Part-time seasonal position generally from May through the end of September.

Pay

Starting at $16/hr with a $0.76 per mile reimbursement for use of a personal vehicle.
