Mosquito Control Specialist
About the role
The Mosquito Control Specialist at Mosquito Authority provides expert mosquito control services on both commercial and residential properties. Dedicated to impeccable client service and enjoying physical work, this role offers no experience requirement. Expert training is provided upon joining.
Responsibilities
- Conduct inspections of private property
- Apply pesticides
- Provide education on source reduction methods and pesticide application
- Provide outstanding customer service and address customer concerns courteously
- Maintain accurate documentation of pesticide application
- Pass required testing for General Standards Pesticide Certification
- Earn referral fee commissions by presenting complimentary service coupons
- Communicate with customers about their applications and future applications
- Follow all company, state, and federal regulations when applying chemicals
- Safely drive a company-provided truck to and from customer locations
- Follow assigned routes and timelines provided by management
- Communicate with other Mosquito Authority staff regarding operations
- Keep working areas neat and clean, including cleaning the work truck weekly
- Operate a backpack fogger weighing up to 60 lbs
- Use mobile computing devices to access database and mapping systems
- Respond to management and customer service requests
- Hang door hangers and place yard signs within the neighborhood of customers as directed
- Accurately mix and apply pesticides
- Prepare daily field service reports and keep accurate records of pesticide applications and other field activities
Requirements
- Adequate written and verbal English communication ability
- A valid driver's license with a good driving record
- A high school diploma or GED, or a college degree
- 3+ years of driving history
Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal skills to communicate with coworkers, customers, and other business professionals
- Ability to earn a General Standards Pesticide Certification within 14 days of hire
- Ability to travel to customer locations using a company-provided vehicle
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
Skills & Abilities
- Strong interpersonal skills to engage with coworkers, customers, and business professionals
- Ability to earn a General Standards Pesticide Certification via IL Dept. of Agriculture within 14 days of hire
- Ability to travel to customer locations using a company-provided vehicle
- Ability to work independently and safely in outdoor environments
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues
- Ability to operate a backpack fogger weighing up to 60 lbs
- Knowledge of database and mapping systems through mobile computing devices
- Ability to respond to management and customer service requests
- Ability to hang door hangers and place yard signs within the neighborhood of customers as directed
- Ability to accurately mix and apply pesticides
- Ability to prepare daily field service reports and keep accurate records of pesticide applications and other field activities
Benefits
The Mosquito Authority offers a competitive pay rate of $19.00 per hour with optional healthcare options or $20.00 per hour without healthcare options. Monthly and annual bonus programs are also available based on performance and attendance.
