Major Job Duties
- Supervise students in the comprehensive care unit to provide comprehensive care to their patient family.
- Maintain Standards of Care and ensure continuity of care for all patients in the CCU.
- Participate in clinic quality assurance and continuous quality improvement measures.
- Work on the clinic floor 4-5 days per week, depending on faculty practice day.
- Assist the staff, faculty, and administration in St. Louis and Kirksville to train adjunct faculty to achieve clinical calibration.
- Coordinate with the Director of Clinical Faculty for staff leave (vacation, medical) and clinic floor coverage.
- Complete administrative reports as needed and all ATSU-required employee training (RET).
- Track student progress and collaborate with CCU Directors, Specialty Care Directors, and the Vice Dean of Clinical Affairs and Advanced Dental Education on student deficiencies.
- Assure patient, student, and staff safety and communication.
- Perform dental procedures on patients as needed.
- Serve on committees as assigned.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Vice Dean of Clinical Affairs and Advanced Dental Education.
Skills And Requirements
- D.D.S. or D.M.D. degree required.
- At least five years experience in a dental teaching environment.
- At least five years experience in private practice where dentistry is performed.
- Must know dental practice operations.
- Must be highly skilled in general dentistry.
- Adaptable and motivated.
- Able to work independently.
- Team oriented.
- Personable.
