Mortgage Underwriter III (VA)

About the role

The Mortgage Underwriting & Appraisals area is responsible for evaluating mortgage applications and property valuations to ensure sound credit decisions, accurate risk assessment, and compliance with all regulatory and investor requirements.

Responsibilities

• Analyzing borrower credit profiles, income, assets, and collateral
• Reviewing appraisal reports for accuracy and adherence to standards
• Determining the overall creditworthiness and risk level of mortgage requests
• Applying underwriting guidelines
• Identifying and mitigating potential risks
• Ensuring the integrity and consistency of valuation processes
• DE / SAR / VHDA Delegations
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Requires broad knowledge of operational procedures and tools obtained through extensive work experience
• May require vocational or technical education
• Typically requires 5+ years relevant experience

Pay

The salary range for this role is between $71,400.00 to $121,400.00 USD.
