About the role
This role supervises loan origination activities for a small team of Mortgage Loan Originators. Key responsibilities include ensuring timely document processing, meeting loan volume goals, establishing referral relationships, participating in industry associations, and fostering customer relationships.
Responsibilities
- Secures documents required for processing, underwriting, and closing loans in a timely manner.
- Maintains loan volume targets set by upper management.
- Builds and maintains relationships with real estate brokers, builders, and other external sources to generate loan volume.
- Participates in local and state mortgage banking, realtor, and builder trade associations to stay informed on industry trends and issues.
- Works collaboratively with U.S. Bank Home Mortgage and other business lines to enhance customer relationships and drive additional product sales.
- Recruits and retains talent, focusing on employee development and engagement.
Requirements
The role requires NMLS registration under the S.A.F.E. Act of 2008 and Regulation Z. Candidates must demonstrate new business development and relationship management skills, have a thorough understanding of mortgage products/services, and possess basic pricing and underwriting knowledge. Familiarity with local, state, and national laws is also essential.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two or more years of mortgage sales experience.
- Two or more years of mortgage loan origination experience with proven results.
Skills
- Demonstrated new business development and relationship management skills.
- Good knowledge of sales and sales strategies.
- Thorough knowledge of mortgage products/services, operations, and current market trends.
- Working knowledge of underwriting requirements for various mortgage insurance companies.
- Familiar with local, state, and national laws.
- Well-developed customer service/relations skills.
- Strong attention to detail orientation, and ability to analyze financial information.
- Good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
