Mortgage Originator

Responsibilities

• Contact realtors, developers, and contractors regarding institution mortgage programs
• Counsel prospective mortgage customers
• Take applications
• Prepare appropriate documentation
• Make recommendations on mortgage loans
• Communicate decision to the mortgage customer

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
• Minimum of two (2) years loan experience with prior advanced banking training through AIB, PB, ABA, etc. preferred
• High level of attention to detail
• Proficient reading, verbal and written communication, mathematical, computer, problem solving, decision making, and interpersonal relations skills
• Self‑starter showing initiative; able to work autonomously as well as part of a team
• Strong working knowledge of mortgage underwriting, loan documentation, conventional and government lending guidelines, federal lending regulations governing real estate lending and residential mortgage processing, closing procedures, appraisals and contracts
• Knowledge of the features and benefits of Bank loan products and services
