About the role

The Mortgage Loan Officer Sales Assistant II plays a crucial role in supporting high-producing loan officers by facilitating the loan application process, managing document collections, and maintaining customer relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Assists loan officers in completing loan applications and managing the document collection process.
  • Tracks loan deliverables and updates customers on loan statuses.
  • Communicates with customers regarding rate inquiries, third-party providers, and loan statuses.
  • Ensures appointments are confirmed and documents needed at application times are reviewed.
  • Interacts with customers to discuss products and pricing, and writes credit memos for loans.
  • Coordinates with mortgage operations and sales support to structure deals and manage underwriting processes.
  • Develops a customer database for marketing opportunities and follows up with sales leads.
  • Builds relationships with referral partners and assists in other areas as needed.
  • Provides exceptional customer service to both internal and external clients.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 2-3 years of related experience.
  • Strong understanding of underwriting and mortgage guidelines.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and sales skills.
  • Solid knowledge of mortgage lending, products, policies, and procedures.
  • Proficiency with basic mortgage loan origination systems.
  • Highly developed customer service skills.
  • Ability to explain complex mortgage information in simple terms.
  • Effective prioritization and meeting deadlines.
  • Confidentiality of sensitive information maintained.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Organized and detail-oriented.

Qualifications

  • Eligible for employment with a covered financial institution under the standards established by Regulation Z of the Truth in Lending Act.
  • Eligible for registration as a registered mortgage loan originator with the NMLS.
  • A satisfactory criminal background check, credit report, and statements from job applicant regarding administrative, civil, or criminal findings by any government agency are required.

Skills

  • Understanding of mortgage laws and regulations, including Home Mortgage Disclosure Act, RESPA, and Reg Z.
  • Knowledge of state and federal agency mortgage loan guidelines and regulations.
  • Ability to operate in a dynamic, detail-oriented environment.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient in using standard office equipment.

The base pay for this role ranges from $25.50 to $36.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

Schedule
