Mortgage Loan Assistant
Job Description
Performs a broad variety of administrative support functions for assigned Mortgage Loan Originator(s) up to the time of application submission into Mortgage Operations. This support may include following up with borrowers for the collection of required documentation, responding to borrowers questions related to loan status, and may assist operations partners in relation to specific loan requests. Utilizes supplied Marketing tools to assist in growing the assigned Mortgage Loan Originator’s (or Originators’) book of business. Actively participates in all required corporate and business line training. Responsible for providing excellent customer service that positively impacts the customer experience with U. S. Bank. Establishes and maintains good working relationships with other departments within U.S. Bank Home Mortgage and U.S. Bank overall.
About the Role
This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.
Responsibilities
- Follows up with borrowers for the collection of required documentation

- Utilizes supplied Marketing tools to assist in growing the assigned Mortgage Loan Originator’s (or Originators’) book of business

- Provides excellent customer service that positively impacts the customer experience with U. S. Bank
- Maintains good working relationships with other departments within U.S. Bank Home Mortgage and U.S. Bank overall
Requirements
- NMLS registration under the terms of the S.A.F.E. Act of 2008 and Regulation Z
- Must be able to comply with U.S. Bank policies and procedures including the Code of Ethics and Business Conduct and related workplace conduct and safety policies
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum one year of experience in administrative support activities
Skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Proficient computer navigation skills using a variety of software packages including Microsoft Office applications
- Previous Mortgage Loan Assistant experience
- Knowledge of the mortgage processes, including the life cycle of a mortgage file
- Experience in meeting multiple deadlines with understanding priorities
