About the role

FAR Inspections is seeking independent contractors to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders. Contractors earn predictable full-time or supplemental income with a flexible schedule.

Responsibilities

• Complete inspections within 4 days after assignment.
• Report on property conditions using a mobile application.
• Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments.
• Fill out a short form in an app.
• Drive for extended periods, making numerous stops in the assigned territory.

Requirements

• Computer with internet access.
• Reliable vehicle (good gas mileage preferred).
• Smartphone (Android or iPhone).
• Printer.
• Pass a standard background check using a valid driver's license.

Pay and Hours

• This is a 1099 position.
• Rates vary based on county and volume.
• Earn $20-$30 per hour depending on volume and location.
• Work 2-30 hours per week, with no set number of inspections per month.

What is an Occupancy Verification?

Mortgage lenders require periodic updates on their properties and send out independent contractors to do this. The purpose is:

• To verify property occupancy.
• To report on the general condition of the property using a mobile application.
• Most inspections are exterior only.
• About 10% require interior photos after the property goes vacant.
• We contract with inspectors at a county level, so you'll be responsible for completing all inspections in your county.
• In some cases, you may split the county with another inspector if there's enough volume for two inspectors.
