About the Role
We're looking for a Mortgage Department Sales Manager who builds winning teams, drives sustainable growth, and owns outcomes from start to finish. This role is for a leader who thrives on accountability, loves developing people, and gains energy from producing measurable results.
Compensation
$80,000 USD annual base salary plus incentives; exempt full-time, paid biweekly.
- Quarterly incentive: 0.06% of the loan amount funded.
- Annual incentive: 0.06% of the total dollar amount of mortgage loans funded for the year (certain conditions apply).
Incentives vary based on production results and are not capped.

Expected Outcomes
- Grow Mortgage Loan Portfolio by $3,819,058 before December 31, 2026.
- Earn $43,638 in Secondary Market Income.
- Earn $166,345 in in-house origination and processing income in 2026.
- Build a mortgage team that achieves measurable results.
- Hire only A players and terminate any mortgage team employee not meeting KPIs by their one-year anniversary.
- Implement a coaching plan for all mortgage team employees to ensure all meet their KPIs by your 18-month anniversary.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a high-performing mortgage team with clear expectations and measurable goals.
- Drive sustainable mortgage growth through strong partnerships and business development in the community.
- Oversee mortgage operations, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and an exceptional member experience.
- Actively solicit outside business and cultivate referral relationships.
- Serve as a visible ambassador in the community to promote our mortgage services.
- Own performance outcomes: production, pipeline health, profitability, and team development.
Requirements
- Proven leadership experience in mortgage lending, including credit union loan policies, products, procedures, processing, and underwriting guidelines.
- Strong understanding of mortgage law, regulations, and the secondary market.
- Experience with mortgage loan processing functions including FHA, VA, and conventional lending.
- Results-driven mindset with the confidence to hold yourself and others accountable.
- People-first leadership approach with a focus on building strong teams and relationships.
Qualifications
- Two to five years of similar or related experience, including a minimum of two years of mortgage lending experience.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- College degree preferred but not required.
- Registered as an active Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) on the NMLS site (must renew registration annually).
- Bilingual (fluent proficiency in Spanish and English) is a plus.

- Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to quickly learn and effectively use mortgage lending and financial software systems.
- Organized, detail-oriented, analytical, and a strong problem solver.

Schedule
- On-site in Tyler, Texas, with occasional travel required.
- Availability between 8 AM - 6 PM, Monday - Friday, and occasional weekends or before/after-hours events.
- Department meetings or company trainings may start at 7:45 AM on some weekdays.
