Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced morning‑show Broadcast Producer to assist with planning and audio/video production of multiple live and pre‑recorded radio shows featuring news, music, talk, sports, traffic, and feature productions.
Responsibilities
- Generate original ideas, encourage ideation from others, and conduct thorough research.
- Research information, obtain materials, and assist with contacting and scheduling guests.
- Give direction to presenters, content providers, assistants, and other crew members.
- Manage budgets and ensure efficient use of resources.
- Obtain permissions or licenses for on‑location recording/broadcasting and for use of music, sound effects, and audio archive material.
- Monitor listener emails, inquiries, and responses related to shows.
- Collaborate with presenters, performers, and program contributors to ensure quality assurance and compliance with production standards, rules, and regulations.
- Operate broadcasting technologies such as soundboards and editing/production software.
- Schedule and monitor the radio stream during live recordings.
- Assist with time‑keeping, saving show recordings, archiving files, and post‑production editing as directed.
- Produce audio and video clips of shows and post them on social media.
Requirements
- Creative mindset with ability to formulate and communicate original ideas.
- Excellent writing and storytelling skills; ability to tailor content for different audiences and platforms.
- Knowledge of the radio market, station/program styles, and audience demographics.
- Experience using a variety of recording equipment and operating a radio studio.
- Strong interpersonal skills – ability to build rapport and draw information from people.
- Confidence and tenacity to pursue information, overcome obstacles, and pitch ideas to senior colleagues.
- Stress tolerance; ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure and react quickly to changes.
- Strong planning, organization, prioritization, multitasking, and deadline‑management abilities.
- Full knowledge of laws, rules, and industry regulations around radio productions, including acquiring clearances and licenses.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint), social media platforms, and audio/video editing software.
