Morning Cook

Vernon Memorial Healthcare is seeking a regular part-time Assistant Cook to join our hospital's Food & Nutrition Services department.

Schedule

• 3-4 days per week from 5:45 AM - 1:45 PM, Monday through Friday
• Rotating holiday and weekend shifts

Responsibilities

• Assist with cooking for patients and bistro
• Complete daily stocking and use food techniques that conserve nutrients, flavor, and appearance
• Perform a variety of required daily cleaning duties
• Assist with preparation of appropriate quantities of aesthetically pleasing and nutritious foods for service to VMH patients, staff, and visitors
• Assemble patient meal trays and check food trays for accuracy
• Assist with portioning food items necessary for patient meals, patient nourishments, hospital cafeteria, and special functions including entrees, side items, soups, salads, and desserts
• Assist as Bistro cashier when needed

Requirements

• Minimum of one year of relevant experience in a cook or dietary role
• Strong interest in food and nutrition strongly preferred
• ServSafe certification is strongly preferred

Pay

Minimum starting wage is $17.78 per hour with adjustments based on experience.
