About the Role
As a Beauty Advisor, you'll be responsible for providing a well-stocked and well-maintained department while delivering superior customer service.
Responsibilities
- Provides superior customer service focused on hospitality.
- Answers customer questions regarding products, assists with selections, and helps locate merchandise.
- Engages customers to offer individual beauty solutions based on their needs.
- Merchandises product effectively using advanced knowledge and skills.
- Uses suggestive selling techniques to meet customer needs and build department sales.
- Applies advanced knowledge of current beauty trends for hair care, skin care, and makeup.
- Assists in executing sampling, testing, and demo events to drive customer engagement.
- Applies understanding of department financials and how to drive results.
- Interacts with vendors as needed.
- Stocks and rotates items to ensure in-stock conditions.
- Assists with inventory control.
- Maintains standards in shrink, safety, inventory control, and sanitation.
- Cleans and sanitizes sales floor, display cases, prep areas, and equipment.
- Properly handles and maintains the operation of all equipment.
- Complies with departmental SOPs and store operating procedures.

Requirements
- 18 years or older.
- 1+ years of work experience.
- Advanced knowledge of current beauty trends for hair care, skin care, and makeup.
- Working knowledge of store/department financials.
- Understanding of technology.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Reading and writing skills.
- Planning and organizing skills.
- Ability to demonstrate techniques by applying them to yourself.
- High school diploma or GED (or equivalent).
- Completion of company orientation, safety training, and selling training.
Physical Demands & Working Conditions
- Constantly: reach at waist, grasp (5.5+ hours per 8-hour day).
- Frequently: stand, walk (2.5–5.5 hours per 8-hour day).
- Occasionally: sit, reach at overhead, reach at shoulder, reach at knee, reach at floor, bend, stoop, squat, crouch, kneel, climb stairs, pivot, twist, push/pull with arms, pinch, perform fine motor movements (0–2.5 hours per 8-hour day).
- Occasionally exposed to loud noise and wet conditions.
- Ability to lift 45 lbs and manage in excess of 30 lbs (with assistance or breaking down items if too heavy).
