Montessori Assistant Teacher

About the role

We are currently seeking an Assistant Montessori Teacher to join our team. This is a full-time position that works alongside trained Montessori Teachers to deliver on our mission to develop a lifelong love of learning in our students.

Responsibilities

• Play a supporting role in the classroom under the direction of trained, Montessori teachers and work amongst a team of teachers;
• Maintain a safe, clean, and tidy classroom environment in accordance with Montessori philosophy;
• Provide basic care and active supervision of young children as needed;
• Engage in positive redirection to children and maintain a positive learning environment;
• Communicate with parents as needed on routine matters regarding the health, and care of students.

Requirements

• Minimum Required: CDA or Associate’s Degree, or some college coursework;
• At least 18 years of age;
• Prior experience in childcare, daycare or early childhood education is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Human Development) is preferred but not required.

• Positive attitude and ability to engage with children and families.
