About the role

Agile Space Industries is a rapidly growing supplier of propulsion hardware and engineering services for the space industry. Headquartered in Durango, Colorado, with expanding operations in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and upcoming growth in Seattle, Washington, Agile has achieved more than 40% year-over-year growth for the past three years. We design, build, and test in-space propulsion systems that give spacecraft the ability to maneuver with precision, reliability, and purpose. Our technologies play a critical role in missions ranging from lunar landings and resource utilization to national defense, human exploration, and commercial space transport.

Responsibilities

  • Drive product definition and roadmap planning for monopropellant propulsion products
  • Lead technical activities related to business development and proposal efforts
  • Define and maintain product-level technical requirements
  • Lead requirements definition activities from contract award through SRR
  • Develop technical execution plans with support from engineering and manufacturing teams
  • Lead the technical transition of programs from business development into execution
  • Serve as a technical liaison between customers, programs, and internal engineering teams
  • Establish technical relationships with customers to align products with mission needs
  • Participate in gated product development reviews and provide technical guidance for product evolution activities
  • Support trade studies, anomaly investigations, and product improvement efforts
  • Coordinate across multidisciplinary teams to ensure alignment between technical, schedule, and product objectives

Requirements

  • B.S. in Engineering or related technical field (or equivalent experience)
  • 10+ years of experience in aerospace or related technical field
  • Proven experience with monopropellant rocket engine propulsion systems, including architecture, design, integration, test, and qualification
  • Knowledge of propulsion feed systems, valves, regulators, catalyst beds, thermal management, structural considerations, and pulsed thruster operation
  • Familiarity with propulsion system requirements development, verification, manufacturing, and qualification activities
  • Experience supporting proposal development and customer technical discussions
  • Experience supporting gated design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR)
  • Experience with spacecraft propulsion interfaces, mission integration, trade studies, anomaly investigations, and technical risk reduction efforts
  • Strong systems engineering, technical communication, and cross-functional coordination skills
  • Experience working across multidisciplinary engineering teams and with customers to define mission objectives, CONOPS, and system requirements
  • Experience with product development processes and technical decision-making for propulsion systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with requirements management tools such as JAMA or similar
  • Experience supporting failure investigations and root cause analysis
  • Familiarity with NASA and/or other aerospace industry standards
  • Clear and concise presentation and communication skills
  • Experience with project management tools and techniques

Physical Requirements

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Pay

$156,000 - $210,000. Final compensation will be based on factors such as experience, skills, and internal equity, and is typically made within the midrange, rather than the upper end.

Schedule

Full Time. Travel requirements: less than 25%.
