About the Role
Monitors heart rhythm patterns of patients to detect abnormal variances using telemetry equipment. Reviews patient information to determine normal heart rhythm patterns, current patterns, and prior variances. Observes cardiac monitor screens and listens for alarms to identify abnormal heart rhythms.
Responsibilities
- Monitors telemetry of patients by observing telemetry monitors for changes in cardiac rhythms.
- Removes and cleans telemetry boxes when a patient is discharged from telemetry.
- Maintains accurate records of telemetry patients.
- Immediately notifies RN or supervisor of rhythm changes.
- Assigns transmitters and wires and sets up the monitor system for all telemetry-ordered patients.
- Troubleshoots transmitters and wires and ensures the monitor system is correctly set up for all telemetry-ordered patients.
- Stays abreast of federal, state, and local regulations for food safety and sanitation.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must read, write, and speak fluent English.
- Must have good and regular attendance.
- Satisfactory score on EKG interpretation competency test.
- Ability to accurately identify cardiac rhythms and understand their significance.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent, including education equivalent to completion of secondary school or demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the role (preferred).
- Current BLS certification.
- EKG certification preferred.
- No prior experience required.

Pay
$20.51–$30.00 per hour.
