Monitor Tech PRN - 12 HR - RRAL Tele

Responsibilities

• Maintains cardiac rhythms via direct cardiac monitors.
• Serves as a point of contact for communication needs within the department.
• Transcribes physician orders when Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE) and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems are not available.
• Verifies the completion of lab tests and radiology tests as ordered.
• Prepares and compiles patient records in Med/Surg/Telemetry units.
• Orders necessary supplies for the unit and ensures the completion of daily charting requirements.
• Absorbs direct patient care responsibilities under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) if the activity does not interfere with the primary responsibility for dysrhythmia monitoring.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current Dysrhythmia Interpretation Certificate within 30 days of hire.
• Current BLS (AHA) certification upon hire.
• Six months of previous experience in healthcare or as a Monitor Technician.
