Monitor Tech - Full Time
Position Summary
The Lead Monitor Technician is a member of the nursing team who interprets cardiac monitor, working under the direction of the Registered Nurse. Provides continuous cardiac monitoring observation and documentation of cardiac rhythm on a routine basis. The Monitor Tech communicates changes in the cardiac rhythm to the charge nurse and primary nurse. Ensures practice is in accordance with the Policies and Protocols required for that area. Understands and enforces hospital and personnel policies and procedures. Assists in providing education and communication to Monitor Tech team as needed. Strives for quality outcomes and innovative practice in accordance with Department Policies. Participates in the hiring process, performance review process of Monitor Techs. Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements
- Stooping, sitting, standing, and walking for long periods of time
- Frequent assistance lifting patients and heavy equipment
- Work in a stressful environment, work independently, make sound decisions, detail oriented, alert, and self-motivated
- Ability to push/pull up to 40lbs, carry and lift up to 50lbs
Threshold Requirements
- Annual Joint Commission mandatory education requirements
- In-service and health requirements including attendance at new employee orientation
- TB/PPD Surveillance Program
- Maintenance of required professional licensing and/or certification(s)
