Monitor Tech
Responsibilities
- Maintains cardiac rhythms via direct cardiac monitors.
- Communicates with the department as needed.
- Transcribes physician orders when CPOE and EMR systems are not available.
- Verifies lab and radiology test orders and ensures they have been completed.
- Prepares and compiles patient records in Med/Surg/Telemetry.
- Orders and prepares necessary supplies for the unit.
- Completes patient charts for required forms daily.
- Aids nursing staff in indirect patient care duties under RN supervision.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent, or related experience.
- Current Dysrhythmia Interpretation Certificate within 30 days of hire.
- Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire.
- Six months of previous experience in Healthcare or as a Monitor Technician.
- Possesses active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
- Demonstrates annual competency in CNA duties and skills.
