Molecular Lab Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Provide daily oversight of a cutting-edge molecular workflow to produce high-quality next-generation sequencing data with rapid turnaround times.
• Monitor laboratory processes to ensure acceptable levels of analytic performance, including review of quality control, instrument and equipment maintenance, and other quality assurance activities.
• Affirm all remedial actions are taken whenever test systems deviate from the laboratory’s established performance specifications.
• Conduct quality reviews for samples throughout the sequencing workflow from extraction to sequencing.
• Maintain CLIA/ CAP/ NYSDOH compliance.
• Schedule training and competency assessments for personnel.
• Mentor a team of clinical molecular technologists and extraction technologists.
• Maintain safety within the laboratory and ensure all safety protocols are followed.
• Utilize automation and robotics to standardize the discovery pipeline from sample acquisition to sequencing output.
• Schedule training and onboarding for new hires.

Qualifications

• One of the following educational requirements:
• MD + 1 year clinical lab experience
• PhD (physical, chemical, or biological science) + 1 years clinical lab experience
• MS (physical, chemical, or biological science) + 2 years pertinent clinical lab experience
• BS (physical, chemical, or biological science) + 4 years of pertinent clinical lab experience

• Strong desire to build products that will save lives and change the course of cancer
• Impeccable attention to detail

• Highly desirable experience:
• Next-generation sequencing
• Supervising others
• Working in a CLIA/CAP high-complexity laboratory
• Experience with robotics and automated liquid handling systems
• Knowledge of LIMS platforms and various computer systems

Benefits

• Full range of benefits including incentive compensation, restricted stock units, medical and other benefits depending on the position.

Pay

• CHI: $60,000-$80,000

Schedule

• Current Available Shifts: Sun-Wed (7am-530pm), Wed-Sat (2pm-12:30am)
