Job Duties
- Plans, directs, and conducts research experiments on mitochondrial-nuclear crosstalk in cancer progression.
- Generate preliminary data, write grants, and apply for independent funding opportunities.
- Mentor junior postdocs, graduate students, and summer trainees.
- Evaluate and analyze data from lab experiments and from other high-throughput analyses.
- Perform computational biology to develop models for metabolic interactions.
- Develops new research projects that can understand the role of metabolic reprogramming in cancer progression.
- Actively participate in team science and collaboration projects.
- Appropriately document experimental results and reports to the principal investigator.
- Actively participate in the scientific talks and other career development programs offered by BCM and neighboring institutes.
Minimum Qualifications
- The candidate must be self-motivated and have at least 4 years of postdoc experience with molecular biology, computational biology, and in vivo tumor models.
- Strong preference will be given to candidates with prior experience in mitochondrial biology and mathematical modeling.
