Responsibilities
- Scientific & Analytical Support
- Interpret sequencing and molecular data (PCR, dPCR, metagenomics)
- Provide biological context to genomic surveillance outputs
- Identify variants, mutations, and signals of public health relevance
- Familiarity with sequencing outputs (e.g., variant calls, lineage assignments, coverage metrics)
- Collaboration & Coordination
- Partner with laboratory teams and bioinformaticians
- Support coordination with external labs and partners
- Translate lab outputs into actionable insights
- Experience working with cross-functional teams in public health or research environments
- Program Support
- Contribute to reports, briefings, and technical documentation
- Support pilot studies and surveillance enhancements
Qualifications
- Master’s or PhD in Bioinformatics, Microbiology, or related field
- Experience with sequencing workflows and molecular data
- Familiarity with environmental or wastewater datasets
- Strong communication and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and resolve problems without constant supervision
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
