About the role

Ensure all molds and molding equipment are kept in optimal operating conditions at all times to guarantee top quality output with minimal down time.

Night Shift: Monday through Thursday, 7:30 pm to 6 am at our Pendleton, SC manufacturing location.

Responsibilities

• Strong working knowledge in troubleshooting molding machines and processes.
• Notifies Supervisor and/or Mold Toolmaker if equipment is not operating properly.
• Able to get information for different types of materials and molding conditions.
• Responsible for all cold and restarts of the molding machines.
• Ensure parts are to specification.
• Ensure all PM’s on the running machine are completed every shift.
• Ensure all changes are documented.
• Keep work area, machine, tooling, and parts neat and organized.
• Maintain insert inventory and notify supervisor when running low.
• Complete Mold repair work order sheets when tool work is needed and notify the supervisor.
• Demonstrate the ability to work steadily and professionally with little or no supervision.
• Ability to work in a team environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3 years of industrial injection molding experience is required.
• Medical molding device experience preferred.

Skills

• Must know machine controllers, different parts of injection molding machines, different tool types, and their components.
• Must know tooling terminologies.
• Basic understanding of reading blueprints and using different measuring devices.
• Must know machines' auxiliary equipment and have good working knowledge of robots.
• Strong knowledge in setting and pulling tools.
• Must have knowledge of scientific molding and process optimization.
• Basic knowledge of different types of materials and molding conditions.
• Ability to work processes on injection molding machines.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with abstract and concrete variables.
• Ability to comprehend and apply mathematical principles required for the job.
• Ability to comprehend and apply language skills required for the job.
• Ability to verbally communicate ideas and issues effectively to other team members and management.
• Ability to write and record data and information as required by procedures.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to talk or hear.
• Frequently required to sit; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
• Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
• Frequently required to bend and lift 50-70 lbs.
• Visual acuity necessary to perform the job safely and effectively.

Work Environment

• Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock.
• Moderate noise level in the work environment.
