About the role

Assigns and monitors work of associates to ensure production requirements are met in all molding areas. Ensures safety, 4S, and quality standards are maintained. Performs adjustments to molding processes and performs changeovers and setups as needed. Completes all required documentation. Trains associates in machine processes and problem solving.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors work of associates to ensure production requirements are met.
  • Ensures quality standards are met and approval of finished product.
  • Monitors cleanliness and safety of the worksite.
  • Performs product problem solving and corrective actions.
  • Works to ensure company goals are attained.
  • Trains assigned associates as needed to ensure they are capable of performing assigned tasks.
  • Performs process adjustments and changeovers as needed.
  • Holds daily shift meetings to communicate daily activities to associates.
  • Ensures that production schedules are followed.
  • Completes required forms and paperwork.
  • Verifies quantities, lot numbers, labels, and correctness of parts.
  • Performs cycle counts using handheld scanner and ERP system.
  • Notifies materials department of any known component or manufactured part shortages.
  • Repairs minor machine problems.
  • Fills in for absentees on work stations when needed.
  • Follows all safety rules and keeps the work area in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Performs other duties as necessary.

Requirements

  • Associates degree and/or 2-5 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting (molding preferred).

Skills

  • Use hand tools, crane, grinders, calipers, and gages.
  • Use of a Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) and a hand or powered pallet jack.
  • Use of a computer and typical office software.
  • Ability to use handheld scanner.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing equipment in assigned area.

Physical Requirements

  • Works in a factory environment with noise from the manufacturing environment.
  • Exposure to moving equipment, parts and electrical shock. Possible serious injury due to carelessness around equipment.
  • Sometimes lifts, carries or moves objects – weighing up to 50 pounds.
