About the Role

Develop and maintain ISO-compliant processing standards for both production and development. Work with all levels of the organization to manage injection molding processes, including mold setting, process development and execution, material handling procedures, troubleshooting, and statistical analysis. Demonstrate consistent and decisive leadership while fostering a mentoring and coaching environment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a liaison between manufacturing and engineering
  • Train technical resources
  • Apply Lean/Six Sigma methodologies for process development and problem solving
  • Maintain associated metrics for respective area
  • Optimize cycle times, reduce scrap, and minimize downtime
  • Participate on teams requiring technical expertise
  • Create and maintain department procedures
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and ensure accurate execution of defined processes
  • Monitor and uphold the level of quality produced by the department
  • Promote communication between departments to execute customer orders
  • Actively engage in continuous improvement initiatives
  • Develop growth and development plans for personnel
  • Maintain working relationships with other department managers and personnel
  • Assess equipment and personnel requirements for the department and implement necessary changes
  • Perform other tasks as directed by manager
  • Overtime is required
  • Occasional travel may be required

Requirements

  • Ability to interpret part prints, quality plans, work instructions, and apply the knowledge appropriately
  • Ability to develop and write work procedures and train personnel
  • Proficient in Office software, including word processing and spreadsheets
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills for interacting at all organizational levels
  • Working knowledge of CAD/SolidWorks and Moldflow
  • Experience with engineered and high-temperature resins
  • Demonstrated experience in formalized problem solving
  • Ability to program robots and exchange end-of-arm tooling
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001-2015

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent technical training/experience
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of Process Engineering experience
  • Lean/Six Sigma training/certification
  • Certificate of supervisory training preferred
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt training preferred

Skills

  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • Ability to perform complex applications of percentages, averages, and ratios
  • Ability to deal with ambiguous situations, make decisions, and lead production situations with a clear and calm demeanor

Physical Demands

  • Extended hours sitting and viewing a computer screen
  • Repetitive hand and wrist movements
  • Standing, sitting, walking, bending, stooping, crouching, kneeling
  • Occasionally lifting up to 100 pounds

Work Environment

Manufacturing environment with associated noises, smells, and temperatures.
