About the role
The Entry Level Mold Cleaner works under direct supervision to clean, inspect and perform simple maintenance to molds at the end of each production run.
Responsibilities
- Maintains molds by disassembling, cleaning and inspecting each mold at the end of each production run or mold changes.
- Performs basic repairs to molds by machining such as milling, welding, grinding and using impact tools.
- Records work done on the molds at the end of each cleaning.
- Maintains work area by cleaning, straightening and sweeping as necessary.
- Adheres to all safety policies and procedures and maintains a safe and clean work area.
- Develops skills obtained through prior experience and/or formal training to perform key responsibilities.
- Follows standard operating procedures and applies basic analytical skills to perform activities.
- Demonstrates safe practice of handheld tools.
- Other duties may be required that fall within the scope and general level of responsibility attached to the role.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to program and run CNC equipment
- Ability to read blueprints and work with calibration tools and gauges
- Developed technical and mechanical ability
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to use hand tools, grinders, welders and similar equipment
- Organized and able to multi-task

Uses existing procedures to perform straightforward tasks; limited opportunity to deviate without prior supervisor approval or instruction.
Physical Effort and Work Environment
- Work performed in a shop environment
- Frequent standing, walking, bending and reaching
- Frequent lifting of up to 75 pounds and maneuvering up to 150 pounds with a crane
- Occasional lifting up to 100 pounds and maneuvering up to 2,000 pounds with a crane
- Frequently exposed to oil, shavings and noise
