Job Description

Responsibilities

• Cut, stain, and prepare tissue samples for the dermatopathologist to review.
• Prioritize testing procedures and complete them accurately and promptly.
• Maintain proper and accurate records of all tests done in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Operate and maintain lab instruments, including microscopes, cryotomes, microtomes, and other lab equipment.
• Use, safely handle, and store all reagents and stains.
• Maintain records and documentation required to manage the daily workflow and provide Quality Control/Quality Assurance monitors.
• Maintain and update CLIA records for licensure.
• Demonstrate interpersonal skills required to successfully perform as a team member in a constantly changing environment.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding all phases of laboratory work and findings.

Requirements

• Technical experience: prior tissue cutting and preparation.
• Preferred: one year Mohs histology experience.

Qualifications

• Education: Certification as a Histotechnician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL) through ASCP.
• Experience: Preferred one year Mohs histology experience.

The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.

Pay

Preferred $40.00 - $53.83 per hour.

Schedule

16 hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
