About the role
Vail Health-Colorado Mountain Medical is seeking a board certified dermatologist to join their team in Avon, Colorado. The ideal candidate should have experience (at least fellowship training) in Micrographic Dermatologic Surgery.
Responsibilities
- Provides comprehensive dermatologic services specializing in the precise removal of skin cancer tumors using the Mohs micrographic surgery technique and functions as an independent healthcare provider.
- Performs Mohs micrographic surgery procedures to remove skin cancer tumors.
- Interprets histopathologic findings of tissue specimens obtained during surgery to assess tumor margins and ensure complete removal of cancerous cells.
- Prescribes or administers pharmaceuticals, other medications, immunizations, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions.
- Provides health and wellness advice to patients, including diet, physical activity, hygiene, and disease prevention.
- Maintains patient conditions and progress, re-evaluating treatments, and explains procedures and test results or prescribed treatments with patients.
- Refers patients to specialists and to relevant patient care components as appropriate.
- Manages the daily operations of a specific medical program, patient care unit, or research function.
- Directs and coordinates the patient care activities of nursing and support staff as required.
- Fulfills departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
- Participates in specified health promotion, education and/or prevention programs.
- Models the principles of a Just Culture and Organizational Values.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Board certification or eligibility in dermatology and/or dermatopathology.
- Fellowship training in Mohs micrographic surgery.
- Medical doctor or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine with 3 to 5 years of directly related experience which may include residency in a directly related medical specialty.
Qualifications
- License(s): Federal DEA Certification: Medical Specialty License or Certification, Board Certified or Board eligible in Specified Area of Medical Specialt.

Pay
Pay is based upon relevant education and experience per year. Yearly Pay $400,000 - $500,000 USD.
