About the role

The Dermatology and Mohs Surgery Center in Doylestown, PA, is seeking a self-motivated Mohs Histotechnician to join our growing practice.

Responsibilities

• Prepare frozen sections of tissue for microscopic examination using a Cryostat.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and care for all laboratory equipment, instruments, and accessories.
• Clean, stock, and inventory the laboratory area.
• Demonstrate knowledge of CLIA and OSHA standards.
• Independently cut and process 12–14 Mohs cases with a 20-minute turnaround time from tissue receipt to provider review under the microscope.
• Triage and prioritize multiple specimens entering the lab simultaneously.
• Adapt to cutting different tissue sizes and a high-paced workflow based on demand.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the lab manager or management.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience with frozen sections, grossing, embedding, and cutting tissue for Mohs cases.
• Detail-oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Professional demeanor and a pleasant, optimistic personality.
• Quick learner, team player, and dependable with excellent attendance.
• Able to multitask and work efficiently without compromising quality or safety.

Qualifications

Preferred but not required with commensurate experience: HT (ASCP) certification, an associate degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution, or at least 60 semester hours in science from an accredited institution.
