Module Fabrication Yard Project Manager

About the role

Assume full responsibility for assigned modular fabrication projects from handoff through project closeout, developing and executing project execution plans aligned with contract requirements and company objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multidisciplinary project teams and establish clear priorities and accountability
  • Maintain ownership of project scope, schedule, cost, quality, and risk
  • Serve as the primary client interface throughout project execution, leading regular progress meetings and providing accurate reporting on project status
  • Promote a strong safety culture throughout the fabrication yard, ensuring compliance with all company safety policies and customer-specific requirements
  • Develop and maintain integrated fabrication schedules, coordinating engineering, procurement, fabrication, coatings, mechanical completion, testing, and loadout activities
  • Manage project budgets and financial performance, reviewing labor productivity, equipment utilization, subcontract costs, and material expenditures
  • Coordinate engineering deliverables with internal and external engineering teams, ensuring drawings, fabrication packages, and revisions are issued in support of production schedules
  • Coordinate material procurement and delivery with purchasing, monitoring critical equipment and long-lead material status
  • Coordinate fabrication activities across structural steel, piping, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, coatings, insulation, and testing, monitoring productivity and resource loading
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and customer requirements, supporting inspections, audits, and client witness activities
  • Coordinate heavy haul, loadout, marine transportation, and site delivery requirements, ensuring modules are prepared for shipment in accordance with transportation plans
  • Identify commercial, technical, operational, and schedule risks, developing mitigation strategies and contingency plans
  • Mentor Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers, fostering collaboration between construction, engineering, procurement, and support departments

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred
  • Equivalent industrial construction experience will be considered
  • 8+ years of industrial construction, fabrication, or EPC project management experience
  • Experience managing large modular fabrication or heavy industrial projects preferred
  • Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication, pipe fabrication and installation, mechanical equipment installation, electrical and instrumentation systems, industrial coatings, and heavy haul and module transportation

Qualifications

Preferred experience includes experience with one or more of the following industries: LNG, Petrochemical, Refining, Power Generation, Carbon Capture, Data Centers, Offshore Facilities, Industrial Manufacturing

Physical Requirements

Ability to routinely work in an active industrial fabrication environment, walk fabrication yards, climb stairs and module structures, and conduct field inspections, with the ability to work extended hours as project demands require
