About the role

This is a central requisition for all Ocotillo Technology Fabrication (OTF) functional areas. Successful candidates will be aligned to the areas that best match factory needs within Litho, Wet Etch, Dry Etch, Diffusion, Implant, Planar, and Thin Films.

As an OTF Module Engineer, you will own all aspects of one or more 300mm toolsets in a high-volume manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include ensuring safety, cleanliness, and Copy Exactly compliance for your toolset, reviewing control charts, and maintaining excursion-free operations. You will drive Model of Record (MOR) availability, achieve 100% matching for all relevant operations, and lead tool installations, conversions, and qualifications for new technology start-ups. Your role will focus on continuous improvement, record tool availability, cycle time reduction, and defect density minimization to support OTF’s factory goals.

This position may require working on a day or night shift as an on-shift engineer (OSE) to support toolset needs.

Responsibilities

  • Define roadmaps to meet requirements, goals, and milestones for new technology processes.
  • Establish flow, procedures, and equipment configuration for the module.
  • Select and develop materials and equipment to meet quality, yield, reliability, cost, productivity, and manufacturability requirements.
  • Plan and conduct experiments to characterize the process throughout the development cycle.
  • Drive improvements in quality, yield, reliability, process stability, productivity, and safety over variables such as material, method, equipment, environment, and personnel.
  • Develop solutions to problems using formal education, statistical knowledge, and problem-solving tools.
  • Establish and sustain process control systems for the module through volume ramp.
  • Develop strategies to resolve complex problems and systems to prevent future issues.
  • Train production and receiving process engineers for transfer to other factories.
  • Transfer processes to high-volume manufacturing and support new factory start-ups, including installation and qualification of production lines.
  • Demonstrate leadership in a high-performing team culture, including setting and driving accountability for high expectations with urgency.
  • Use data to influence factory and virtual factory direction.
  • Collaborate across organizational boundaries, including process engineering, integration, and yield.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of experience OR Master’s degree with 6+ years of experience OR PhD with 2+ years of experience in Electrical Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related STEM field.
  • Engineering experience in the semiconductor industry.
  • Experience supporting high-volume manufacturing ramps and technology transfers.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Engineering experience in advanced node semiconductor foundry.
  • Prior experience working in a semiconductor factory as a technician or engineer.
  • Proficiency in statistics and experimental design, with skills to apply knowledge to tool matching, qualification, and process development.
  • Troubleshooting experience.

Pay

Annual salary range for roles performed in the US: $120,860 – $231,670 USD. Individual pay is determined by job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and work location.

Schedule

This role requires an on-site presence and may include day or night shifts as an on-shift engineer (OSE) to support toolset needs.
