About the Role

The M&S Integration Engineer/Manager will support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Engineering Directorate Modeling & Simulation (M&S) Office (DES) as the Integration Manager (IM) to test the Missile Defense System (MDS) in a distributed Hardware-In-the-Loop (HWIL) simulation environment. This includes MDS Ground Test (GT) events and MDS Flight Test support (pre-mission risk reduction, mission execution team training, and post-flight reconstruction). Responsibilities involve integration operations support for Continuous Developmental Integration (CDI) activities, Ground Test, and Flight Test.

Key activities include participating in all phases of the M&S Framework integration for MDA Ground Tests, Flight Tests, and CDI activities, such as test planning, functionality tracing, and ensuring OSF Framework (FW) build requirements are met. The role also involves supporting the M&S Event Mission Manager as the DES-I representative during GT/FT events and CDIs, acting as an interface for the DT MTD, resolving OSF Framework issues with the Integrator/NOSC, and coordinating DES-I Teams responses.

Additional duties include drafting and distributing End-of-Day reports (EODs) to the DES community, coordinating communications (phone lines, bridges, SVOIPs) between labs, drafting and submitting PERSTAT (Personnel Status) reports for deployed personnel, and ensuring pre-requisites for travel are completed. The role also aids in conducting DES-I Internal Coordination Brief meetings, coordinating test resource scheduling, and engaging in M&S product configuration management for events.

Responsibilities

  • Support integration operations for MDA’s Continuous Developmental Integration (CDI) activities, Ground Test, and Flight Test events.
  • Participate in all phases of M&S Framework integration, including test planning, functionality tracing, and ensuring OSF Framework build requirements are met.
  • Serve as the DES-I representative in GT/FT events and CDIs, acting as an interface for the DT MTD and coordinating with the Integrator/NOSC to resolve OSF Framework issues.
  • Draft and distribute End-of-Day reports (EODs) to keep the DES community informed of event progress.
  • Coordinate communications (phone lines, bridges, SVOIPs) between labs supporting CDI, GT, and FT events.
  • Draft and submit PERSTAT reports for deployed personnel, track pre-requisites for travel, and coordinate team travel requirements.
  • Assist the Event Mission Manager in conducting DES-I Internal Coordination Brief meetings, including drafting meeting materials and managing action items.
  • Coordinate scheduling of test resources (facilities, personnel) for MDS-level test events and CDI activities.
  • Support travel (up to 10%) for test coordination, technical interchange meetings, and planning.
  • Engage in M&S product configuration management, including routing, tracking, and coordinating Change Requests (CRs) and on-console software/configuration changes.
  • Support occasional off-nominal work hours (nights/weekends) to meet critical testing schedules.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM, a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance (TS preferred).
  • Minimum of 0-5 years’ experience with a Bachelor’s degree; OR equivalent years of experience without a degree.
  • Capability to work in a technically challenging environment and interface with simulation framework developers, test event integration personnel, data analysts, and event planners.
  • Self-starter with minimal direction required.
  • Good understanding of the overall MDS infrastructure and Element capabilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills to work effectively as a team player.
  • Ability to work comfortably with team members, MDS Element contacts, test stakeholders, and other DOD contractors.
  • U.S. person status (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee) due to ITAR/EAR compliance requirements. Some positions may require current U.S. citizenship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting integrated system test events.
  • Experience with staffing coordination.
  • Entry-level familiarity with real-time distributed simulation infrastructures, MDS Element configurations and operations, and DoD Operational Testing (OT) and Development Testing (DT).
  • Willingness to travel up to 10-25% to support mission-critical events and meetings.
