About the role

The Modeling and Simulation Engineer plays a crucial role in transforming the Air Force's battle management, command, and control capabilities. They design and integrate comprehensive M&S frameworks that accurately replicate aircraft performance and operational environments, using tools like MATLAB, Simulink, Ansys, Amesim, or Cameo Systems Modeler.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop high-fidelity models for critical aircraft subsystems including avionics, flight controls, hydraulics, propulsion, and electronic warfare.
  • Evolving these models with advanced technology solutions, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of the Air Force.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver customer-focused engineering solutions.
  • Engage in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies to enhance system design and integration.
  • Run complex, multi-domain simulations to evaluate system upgrades, safety margins, and structural modifications.
  • Participate in real-time hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) or software-in-the-loop (SIL) testing to validate system performance.
  • Work with aircraft technical data, flight dynamics, and sustainment to ensure system reliability and readiness.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience with engineering on military aviation platforms.
  • Experience designing and integrating comprehensive M&S frameworks that accurately replicate aircraft performance and operational environments.
  • Knowledge of aircraft subsystem architectures, MIL-STD specifications, and USAF airworthiness standards.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering.
  • Nice to have:
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies.
  • Experience running complex, multi-domain simulations to evaluate system upgrades, safety margins, and structural modifications.
  • Experience with real-time hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) or software-in-the-loop (SIL) testing.
  • Experience with aircraft technical data, flight dynamics, and their sustainment.
  • Top Secret clearance.
  • Master’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering.
  • INCOSE ASEP or CSEP Certification.

Pay

The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD).

Schedule

Employees working at least 20 hours a week on a regular basis are eligible to participate in Booz Allen’s benefit programs. Individuals that do not meet the threshold are only eligible for select offerings, not inclusive of health benefits.
