Model Based Systems Engineering Lead - Towson, MD(Onsite)

About the role

The Model Based Systems Engineering Lead is responsible for driving the adoption and implementation of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) across an organization.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise-scale MBSE transformations
• Develop and implement MBSE strategies and roadmaps
• Oversee the development and maintenance of system architectures and models
• Plan and execute verification and validation activities
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on MBSE practices
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety-critical industry standards

Requirements

• Bachelor's or master's degree in systems engineering, Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Software), Computer Science, or related discipline
• 12+ years of experience in systems engineering, with 5+ years in MBSE leadership
• Proven experience leading enterprise-scale MBSE transformations
• Hands-on expertise with SysML / SysML v2 requirements and architecture modeling
• Experience in regulated or safety-critical industries (preferred)

Qualifications

• Incorporation Industry Council for SE (INCOSE) certification, OMG certification, or equivalent certifications (e.g., CSEP, OCSMP)

Skills

• Strong knowledge of systems architecture frameworks
• Expertise in model governance and configuration management
• Familiarity with large-scale system decomposition and integration
• Familiarity with PLM, ALM, CAD, simulation tools
• Familiarity with digital thread / digital twin concepts
