About the role

The Systems Engineering Technologies Department seeks a Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) to apply and expand their systems architecture, modeling, and analytical skills. The position involves working on Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, New Mexico, with challenges including Model Based Engineering, Systems of Systems, architecture modeling, analysis of complex systems, and decision support.

Responsibilities

  • Model architectures of complex systems using standards-based languages (ex. SysML).
  • Evaluate and compare alternative architectures using qualitative and quantitative techniques; explore large tradespaces.
  • Articulate major uncertainties associated with systems architectures, define risks and opportunities associated with the uncertainties.
  • Support requirements management, interface management, and architecture change management processes.
  • Translate analysis results into actionable recommendations for the US Government agencies.

Requirements

  • Must be a US citizen capable of obtaining and maintaining a US DoD clearance within the first year of employment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or relevant technical discipline.
  • 1-3 years' experience with product development or integration projects.
  • Experience developing and documenting applications design using Unified Modeling Language (UML) or Systems Modeling Language (SysML).

Skills

  • Hands-on experience (including labs, internships) in Model Based Engineering to include MBE, MBSE, MDA, MDD, MDE.
  • Demonstrated programming experience in object-oriented programming (e.g. Java, C#, or C++).
  • Experience authoring database queries using SQL.
  • Referenceable project-based work experience in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency and strength in verbal, written, presentation, and communications skills for developing and delivering technical presentations.
  • Ability to take current skills and experience and transform them to apply to the military/defense domain.
